<image:title>News - Statement: CASEPAC Urges President Biden to Adopt IHRA - Biden Should Adopt IHRA</image:title>
<image:caption>(May 22, 2023) CASEPAC, the only Federal Political Action Committee in the United States dedicated exclusively to Combating Antisemitism Everywhere strongly urges the Biden Administration to move forward with embracing the widely recognized IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism throughout all agencies of the United States federal government. It should be recalled that on February 23, 2021, President Biden's Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, wrote "…the Biden Administration enthusiastically embraces the IHRA working definition of antisemitism." President Biden should not allow fringe, extremist groups such as JStreet, the New Israel Fund and Members of Congress such as Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar to influence his judgement against the overwhelming consensus of the Jewish-American community on this matter. Mainstream Jewish groups of all stripes - Democrats and Republicans from the Reform, Conservative and Orthodox movements – overwhelmingly support the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism as the gold standard for identifying antisemitism in its various contemporary manifestations. “CASEPAC strongly urges the Biden Administration to embrace IHRA. As we build out our organization, we will be urging the Jewish community in America to demand Congressional Candidates and Members of Congress embrace the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism. If the Biden Administrations does not embrace IHRA, they are sending an alarming message to the Jewish community in America. One that American Jews will not soon forget.” said Bryan E. <image:title>News - Breitbart Exclusive: CASEPAC Urges Biden Admin to Recognize IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism - Breitbart News</image:title>
<image:caption>A PAC aimed at fighting antisemitism is “strongly urging” President Joe Biden to adopt the widely accepted definition of antisemitism in the face of left-wing progressives who reject the definition, accusing it of overreaching by labeling certain criticisms of Israel as manifestations of Jew-hatred. In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News on Monday, CASEPAC’s (Combat Anti-Semitism Everywhere) newly-appointed Executive Director Bryan E. Leib called on the president to “move forward with embracing the widely recognized IHRA (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) working definition of antisemitism” throughout all U.S. federal government agencies. The demand comes as the White House is expected to release its national strategy on combating antisemitism later this month. Citing Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who stated in 2021 that the Biden administration “enthusiastically embraces the IHRA working definition of antisemitism,” Leib called on Biden to “not allow fringe, extremist groups such as JStreet, the New Israel Fund and members of congress such as congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and congresswoman Ilhan Omar to influence his judgment against the overwhelming consensus of the Jewish-American community on this matter.” He noted that mainstream Jewish groups of all stripes, including both Democrats and Republicans from the Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox denominations, “overwhelmingly support the IHRA working definition of antisemitism as the gold standard for identifying antisemitism in its various contemporary manifestations.” With CASEPAC “strongly urging” the Biden administration to embrace IHRA, Leib vowed the group will also be “urging the Jewish community in America to demand congressional candidates and members of congress embrace the IHRA working definition of Antisemitism.” “If the Biden administration does not embrace IHRA, they are sending an alarming message to the Jewish community in America,” he warned, “one that American Jews will not soon forget.” CASEPAC, the only federal political action committee in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to “combating antisemitism everywhere,” named Leib — a well-known TV commentator and foreign policy expert — head on Thursday. From left, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Biden, Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks, sand Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley. (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky) “I am thrilled to join the CASEPAC team to take the fight directly to anyone in federal politics that traffics in any form antisemitism. We will be playing offense, not prevent defense. We will use all resources at our disposal to support incumbents and candidates who join us in fighting back against the dangerous rise of antisemitism. There is no place in American politics for anti-Jewish and anti-Israel rhetoric,” he announced. The matter comes as over 550 rabbis called for the Biden administration’s anticipated national strategy on combating antisemitism to include what is becoming the standard definition of anti-Jewish hate, as progressive groups reject the definition — claiming it stifles legitimate criticism of Israel. The IHRA document defines antisemitism as a “certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews.” “Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities,” it continues. Among nearly a dozen provided examples of such antisemitism, the document lists applying “double standards” to the Jewish State, and denying the Jewish people the “right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.” Though the working definition has been endorsed by past administrations of both parties and President Donald Trump previously signed an executive order instructing the Education Department to consider it when weighing civil rights complaints concerning Jews, progressive groups are opposing it. A White House official said the current administration’s strategy to fight antisemitism will “address increasing awareness and understanding of both antisemitism and Jewish American heritage, improving safety and security for Jewish communities, reversing the normalization of antisemitism and addressing antisemitic discrimination, and building coalitions across all communities to fight hate.” On Tuesday, at a White House reception celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month, President Biden called the strategy “the most ambitious, comprehensive effort in our history to combat antisemitism in America.” The matter comes as the number of recorded antisemitic incidents has reached a record high under President Biden’s administration, despite campaigning on stopping the rise of extremism. <image:title>News - Statement: CASEPAC Slams Biden Administration for Including CAIR as National Partner in Antisemitism Plan and Praises Congresswoman Malliotakis for Speaking Out - President Biden’s Antisemitism Plan</image:title>
<image:caption>(May 30, 2023) CASEPAC, the only Federal Political Action Committee in the United States dedicated exclusively to Combating Antisemitism Everywhere is deeply concerned about the Biden Administration’s decision to include the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a national partner to combat the rise of antisemitism in America and its resulting effect upon the Administration’s action plan. We applaud Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis for tweeting out a statement calling on President Biden to reconsider his decision to include CAIR saying “Of all the organizations the Biden Administration can partner with to combat antisemitism, an anti-Israel & pro-BDS group like CAIR should NOT be one.” Even the left-wing Anti-Defamation League recognizes CAIR’s troubling record of antisemitism and material connections to terror. CAIR is an outspoken promoter of the BDS movement which seeks to single out the world’s only Jewish state, Israel. In addition, CAIR is widely considered by the vast majority of Jewish groups from the left to the right as one of the biggest reasons Jewish students feel unsafe on college campuses. It’s worth noting that CAIR is supported by individuals that are active supporters of the BDS movement such as Linda Sarsour, Representative Rashida Tlaib and Representative Ilhan Omar. The impact of the White House’s inclusion of CAIR and other partisan groups appears to have resulted in a direct attack upon the Jewish consensus surrounding the IHRA Definition of Antisemitism, and an utter denial of the sad truth about left-wing antisemitism and its prevalence. The Jewish people are just as concerned by Woke Supremacism as they are by White Supremacism. Choosing to include the J Street endorsed NEXUS version of Antisemitism speaks volumes. “CASEPAC is left to conclude that the Biden Administration is not serious about objectively tackling the dangerous rise of antisemitism in America in a non-partisan way. If they were, groups that have played such a major role in the increase of antisemitism wouldn’t have a seat at the table. The decision to advance an antisemitism plan with such a flawed definitional standard is reckless and likely to result in harm to Jewish interests. We call upon elected officials to make clear that only the IHRA Definition is capable of accomplishing the core purpose of the Administration’s plan.” Bryan E Leib, Executive Director of CASEPAC</image:caption>

<image:title>News - Leib in Newsmax: Antisemitism in America Is Beyond Out of Control - Leib’s Op-Ed in Newsmax</image:title>
<image:caption>(May 30, 2023) Let me be clear - Antisemitism in America is beyond out of control. The levels of hatred directed at Jews, anti-Israel and anti-Zionism bias have never been higher in this writer's lifetime than they are today. This writer also thinks, no - knows, it’s time to take a different approach and to go on the offensive. In June of 2019, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) reported that hate crimes in Gotham surged 68% - from 2018 to 2019. Of the 184 hate crimes reported in 2019, 60% of the hate crimes targeted Jews. Of the 111 hate crimes reported in 2023 through March 31st, 60 of them or 54% were committed against the Jewish community. Robert Kraft’s recent national antisemitism campaign reported that while Jews make up only 2.4% of the American population, we are victims of 55% of religious based hate crimes in the United States. These numbers are in line with the hate crime statistics in the Empire State's largest city. Unfortunately, the situation hasn’t improved since 2019 if anything, it’s gotten far worse. From the streets of New York to Philadelphia to Miami to Los Angeles - to social media platforms - to the halls of Congress - Jews are being targeted because of our religion! We are harassed because of our values and support for Israel. We are physically attacked at record levels. The monsters who come to kill Jews in our shuls or draw swastikas on our playgrounds, schools and community centers; or those who spew vile hatred for the State of Israel while accusing Jews of having "dual loyalties" have a unified approach. Yet, we as Jews don't seem to have a unified message against antisemitism, and that's combined with an ostrich strategy that many leading Jewish organizations engage in. Ostrich strategy being that of choosing to ignore what’s happening around the country and not utilizing their powerful platforms to raise awareness and to fight back against the Jew haters. This writer recalls a situation in his hometown of Philadelphia, in 2017, when someone spray painted "F**k the Jews, Die Now" on the sidewalk of a popular public park. I saw it, immediately snapped into action by taking a photo, posting that photo on social media, calling on city officials to clean it up immediately, as well as to utilize cameras to find the monster(s) who traffic in antisemitism. After doing this, I received a phone call from the local executive director of a Jewish non-profit and the gist of the call was me getting yelled at for taking a public approach to this instead of just quietly resolving it and moving on. I wanted my fellow Philadelphians to know what antisemitism looked like, this non-profit didn’t want that! I will never forget that 2017, when a fellow Jew was telling me to pipe-down about raising awareness about antisemitism. Ostrich strategy doesn't work, on or with anything. It consistently fails, every time. This writer doesn't personally care if you are on the right or the left, Sephardi or Ashkenazi, Observant or non-Observant. If you are Jewish, you’re Jewish and you need to step up to the plate to fight back against antisemitism nationally. We must unite as Jewish-Americans in the fight against antisemitism, the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement and the toxic anti-Israel climate on college campuses around the country, as well as in the halls of Congress. When those with hatred in their hearts toward Jews walk into a shul to murder us, they don't care about our age, or our political beliefs. They are coming after us because we are Jews. It's that simple. It should be "that simple" for us as Jewish Americans to unite together with one voice to condemn and combat antisemitism everywhere. We must push back against elected officials who think that it's appropriate to loosely use terms like "concentration camps" and "Never Again" or those who label Israel as an "Apartheid Nation." We must condemn and confront individuals such as Rep. Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, D-Minn., who choose to question the dual loyalty of Israeli-Americans and Jewish-Americans, but not people of any other heritage in America. Why doesn’t Rep. Omar accuse Italian-Americans, Irish-Americans and Chinese-Americans, and others, of possessing a dual loyalty? We must condemn and confront individuals such as Rep. Rashida Harbi Tlaib, D-Mich., who openly advocate for boycotts against the State of Israel. When individuals support a movement that boycotts the world’s only Jewish nation while ignoring the vast human rights abuses from many other countries globally, that's antisemitism. We must come together with one voice to loudly proclaim that antisemitism has no place in American politics. Full stop. We need to shift from defense to offense. In my new role as the Executive Director of CASEPAC, I will be leading the charge to go on offense both behind the scenes and out in front in the media. The time is now for a different approach to combating antisemitism in Congress - one that takes the fight directly to the doorsteps of anyone who traffics in antisemitism and to hold them accountable in the media for their words and actions. I say again, the time is now to double down on our efforts and to fight harder than we ever have before. Our future is at stake. The stakes have never been higher and our efforts have never been more needed like they are today. We can no longer afford to hesitate.</image:caption>

<image:title>News - Quoted in Breitbart News Supporting Rep. Mike Lawler - Rep. Mike Lawler Introduces Bill to Cut Federal Funding to Colleges Promoting Antisemitism</image:title>
<image:caption>New York Republican Congressman Mike Lawler introduced legislation to combat antisemitism on college campuses following the widely condemned speech delivered at CUNY law school’s graduation event where a graduate speaker was accused of espousing radical anti-American, anti-Israel, and antisemitic rhetoric. Bill. H.R.3773, which was first introduced last week, aims to rescind federal funding for colleges and universities promoting antisemitism on their campuses by amending the Higher Education Act of 1965 “to prohibit institutions of higher education that authorize Anti-Semitic events on campus from participating in the student loan and grant programs under title IV of such Act.” “Many in the Jewish community in New York and across the country were outraged when a student spewed outrageous anti-semitic rhetoric at CUNY Law School’s graduation in May,” Lawler said. “No college or university should receive a single dollar of federal education funding if they peddle in the promotion of anti-semitism at an event on their campus,” he added. According to Lawler, who has accused public educational institutions of having become “breeding grounds” for anti-American sentiment, anti-Israel bias, and antisemitism; the Stop Anti-Semitism on College Campuses Act would do just that, as he called stopping antisemitism dead in its tracks “critical for supporting our Jewish communities in New York.” He also asserted that CUNY “should be ashamed of itself for allowing insidious anti-semitism to permeate on its campuses.” “My bill will ensure they face stiff penalties if they continue to let hate have a home,” he concluded. In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News, Bryan E. Leib, the executive director of CASEPAC — a political action committee focused on combating antisemitism in American politics — expressed gratitude for the move. “CASEPAC thanks Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) for using his platform in Congress to push back on the rise of antisemitism on college campuses by introducing H.R. 3773,” he stated, while calling on all fellow House members to support the bill “because combating antisemitism on college campuses should not be a partisan issue, it’s an American issue.” Follow Joshua Klein on Twitter @JoshuaKlein.</image:caption>
